![]() ![]() Is this a good idea, or is it better to keep BFD, etc on an external firewire drive (which I already have)? I plan to keep sessions on an external FW drive (like I already do).ģ. For additional hard drives - I plan to put 1 in to install Windows XP on (for use with BootCamp) and was thinking of 1 more for BFD and other sounds, VSTs, plugs, etc. Will I really see a notable difference in PTLE use?Ģ. Is it worth it to upgrade to the ATI Radeon 1900XT - 512MB? Apple charges an additional $250 for the upgrade. The stock system comes with NVIDIA Geforce 7300GT - 256MB. If anyone can advise me on these, I'd really appreciate it!ġ. So now I have just a couple more questions. ![]() I think that will be less expensive than buying them pre-built (since Apple charges a premium on upgrades). Right out of the box, I plan to add 2GB memory from Crucial, and 1 or 2 more hard drives from NewEgg. ![]() Ok - I've definitely decided on the 8-core Mac Pro, 1GB RAM, 250GB HD. ![]() Thanks again to everyone for their advice & suggestions! I just recomend to you, just choose a good Video Card direc from Mac, is the only thing, Right now I have Both a Pc and a Mac Pro: you gonna spend to much money, If you wanna check, go to Dell or HP, and customise an workstation from any one of this two brands, and if you want, compare too, Allienware PC, select a Workstation, customase it, with the memory, video and hard drive, you gonna to spend, around: 5000-7000 dlls, with 4000 more less, you can get the Mac Pro 8 core, and how you say, buy it some other stuff outside Mac store, Memory, Hard Drive. The cost, of a Good PC's, Custom or from a brand. Definitively, I go For Mac Pro, and if you can, go for 8 Core, I have Since 1999 Building Custom Computers, in this years, The PC's was mouch, mouch better than Mac, but Since Mac use Intel Prossesors, Mac Today is a really Good Machine. ![]()
